ADT Conference 2003: Teaching and Learning at a Research University
Faculty, instructional staff, and graduate students:

Come join us for a special one-day conference on teaching and learning in a research university, where we can celebrate and share our ideas. The Academy of Distinguished Teachers is sponsoring this conference for the entire University of Minnesota system to help us think about what is going on in our classrooms and to make us all better teachers and scholars.

You will hear of practical techniques you can take back to your classroom and discover how other teachers deal with the same opportunities and challenges you face.

We have invited Dr. Clay Jenkinson to give our morning keynote address, "A Jeffersonian Lens Applied to the Future of Education." His address will include reflections on his own educational experience, as well as ideas about innovative ways to reach and educate the public.

This is an opportunity for all teachers at the University (Crookston, Duluth, Morris, Rochester, Twin Cities) to participate as colleagues and learn from each other. Please join us for Teaching and Learning at a Research University.

Online registration for the conference is now closed. For information about the conference, please contact Laura Coffin Koch, 612-624-1085 or koch@umn.edu.

At the conclusion of the conference, you are invited to attend the Distinguished Teaching Awards Ceremony and Reception, at the McNamara Alumni Center. This celebration honors the 2002-2003 recipients of the University's awards for their contributions to undergraduate, graduate, and professional education. The event begins at 3:45 p.m. and is sponsored by the Senate Committee on Educational Policy, the University of Minnesota Alumni Association, and the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost. For details, and to RSVP for this event, please visit www.alumni.umn.edu/distinguishedteaching or call (612) 624-2323.
