ADT Conference 2005: Pedagogical Approaches for Engaging Students
Faculty, instructional staff, and graduate students:

Come join us for a special one-day conference on pedagogical approaches for engaging students, where we can celebrate and share our ideas. The Academy of Distinguished Teachers, in collaboration with the Provost's Council for Enhancing Student Learning (CESL) and the Center for Teaching and Learning Services, is sponsoring this conference for the entire University of Minnesota system to help us think about what is going on in our classrooms and to make us all better teachers and scholars.

You will hear of practical techniques you can take back to your classroom and discover how other teachers deal with the same opportunities and challenges you face.

We have invited Dr. Ben Cameron of the Theater Communications Group to give our morning keynote address.

This is an opportunity for all teachers at the University (Crookston, Duluth, Morris, Rochester, Twin Cities) to participate as colleagues and learn from each other. Please join us for Pedagogical Approaches for Engaging Students.

Online registration for the conference is now closed. For information about the conference, please contact Karen Zentner Bacig, kbacig@umn.edu or 612-624-5082. Thank you.

At the conclusion of the conference, you are invited to attend the Distinguished Teaching Awards Ceremony and Reception, at the McNamara Alumni Center. This celebration honors the 2004-2005 recipients of the University's awards for their contributions to undergraduate, graduate, and professional education. The event begins at 3:45 p.m. and is sponsored by the Senate Committee on Educational Policy, the University of Minnesota Alumni Association, and the Office of the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost. For details, and to RSVP for this event, please visit www.alumni.umn.edu/distinguishedteaching or call (612) 624-2323.
The University of Minnesota is an equal opportunity educator and employer.
